With the same family at the helm, just a little bit bigger. Occupying over 500,000 sqft at our headquarters in County Durham, we’ve stayed true to our roots, and remain a stone’s throw away from the original family shop.
1909
Our story began in 1909 supplying hardware and tools, as an independent, family run business in Darlington, County Durham.
1969
As demand grew, we moved into new premises across two sites, and branched into ceramics, architectural ironmongery and joinery services.
1987
Demand grew, which led to the opening of a new arm of the business, PWS Distributors Ltd - on the very same 500,000 sq.ft site where we stand today.
2001
With our trade customers looking to for inspiration, we opened our first 30,000 sq. ft. ‘Design Centre’ at our County Durham headquarters. To this day, it’s the UK’s largest KBB trade showroom. In 2016 we opened a second Design Centre in Slough to service our customers in the South.
2007
Following the acquisition of the whole business by Mark Stephenson in 2007, the business continued to expand and a holding company, Danesmoor Group, was formed, incorporating all the PWS operations and The Danesmoor Agency under one group umbrella.
2008
With customers seeking their whole kitchen solution from one trusted source, we expanded into the fabrication of high quality, bespoke worksurfaces. PWS Worksurfaces was born.
2018
With a drive to improve quality and service, we heavily invested in a fully automated paint finishing facility, also located at our HQ site.
2018
With a focus on the latest machinery and skilled craftsmanship, we opened our Life Trade manufacturing facilities based at our County Durham HQ. Today this faciility produces over 15,000 fully assembled cabinets a year.
2018
In 2018 we launched Life Kitchens for Living, providing the trade with complete kitchen and bedroom solutions. We also opened our first consumer showroom in Waterloo, London.

Fun Fact: Before I got into the KBB industry, I was a full time Hip Hop and House Club DJ in the 90’s! I love to holiday abroad with my wife Nikki and love my two mini-dachshunds Douglas and Freddie!

Fun Fact: I love to dog walk, hike and explore new places! I also like to do spontaneous road trips. I own a Cocker Spaniel whose energy never seems to run out whilst my energy does chasing after her! I’m a follower of football and i’ve been a Chelsea supporter my whole life!

Fun Fact: My music playlist is filled with music from the 70s and 80s rock classics thanks to my dad’s passion for music. When I’m not rocking out to classic anthems, you’ll find me cheering from the sidelines of grassroots to Premier League football games. Oh, and let’s not forget my Monty; 15-year-old Staffy with a talent for turning nap time into an art form—especially when there’s food involved!
